(서울, 한국 2015년 9월 12일 PRNewswire=연합뉴스) inPERU가 한국증권거래소에서의 거래 개시를 알리는 시종식을 시작으로, 서울에서 아시아 로드쇼를 이어갔다. 그 후 오전이 끝날 때까지 페루 대표와 한국의 투자자 및 간부들 간에 일대일 사업 상담이 이어졌다.

페루중앙준비은행 총장 Julio Velarde가 약 25명의 사업 지도자와 정부 관료들로 구성된 페루 대표단을 이끌고 있다. 아시아 전역에서 그와 동행하는 인사로는 리마증권거래소 회장인 Christian Laub과 inPERU 전무이사인 Jose Antonio Blanco가 있다. 이 로드쇼는 이번 주 후반부에 베이징으로 무대를 옮길 예정이다.

한국의 여러 기업체 간부들을 대상으로 세미나도 열렸는데, 이 세미나에서는 페루에 투자하고 페루 기업과 거래할 것을 장려했다. 이 행사에는 현대 엔지니어링, 한국전기통신공사 및 한국산업은행 선임 간부들이 참석했다. Laub 회장은 “페루는 10년 내에 남미의 금융 허브가 될 가능성을 안고 있다”고 말했다. 그는 지난 10년 동안 페루가 꾸준한 성장세를 기록했음을 강조하고, 페루 경제가 멕시코, 칠레 및 콜롬비아(통합 라틴 아메리카 시장(Latin American Integrated Market, MILA)의 나머지 회원국들)보다 저항력이 높다고 설명했다. 

또한 Julio Velarde 총장은 또한 지난 3년 간 상품 수익이 감소했지만 “페루는 견고한 경제 토대 덕분에 아시아 투자자들에 있어 여전히 좋은 기회”라고 덧붙였다. 실제로 농업과 같은 부문은 아시아 자본에게 있어 매력적으로 다가가고 있다. 지난달 Hass 아보카도의 첫 선적분이 일본에 도착해 모든 위생 규정을 통과했다. 9월에는 페루 산 아보카도를 실은 첫 컨테이너들이 일본에 도착할 예정이다. 페루는 2016년 중국과 일본에 5,000톤이 넘는 아보카도를 수출할 준비를 하고 있다.  

Blanco inPERU 전무이사는 금융 불확실성이 큰 요즘, 페루가 사업에 개방적인 태도를 취한다는 사실을 한국 투자자들에게 보여줬다는 측면에서, 이번 서울 방문은 큰 성공이라고 언급했다. 또한 이번 로드쇼에서는 페루의 중요한 무역 상대국인 한국에게, 또한 국제 투자 펀드를 통해서뿐만 아니라 리마증권거래소에 직접 자본을 투자할 것을 권장했다.

Korea a Key Asian Market for Peru's Government and its Leading Business Figures

SEOUL, Korea, September 12, 2015/PRNewswire/ -- inPERU continued its Asian Roadshow in Seoul with a bell ringing ceremony to mark the start of trading at the Korean Stock Exchange. The rest of the morning was spent in one-to-one business meetings between Peruvian representatives and Korean investors and executives.

Julio Velarde, President of the Peruvian Central Reserve Bank, is leading the delegation of approximately 25 business leaders and government officials. Accompanying Velarde throughout Asia are Christian Laub, Chairman of the Lima Stock Exchange, and Jose Antonio Blanco, Executive Director of inPERU. The roadshow will visit Beijing later this week.

A seminar took place for a large group of South Korean business executives who were encouraged to invest and do business with Peru. Attending the event were senior figures from Hyundai Engineering, Korea Telecom and Korea Development Bank, among others. Mr. Laub stated that Peru "could become the region's financial hub within the next 10 years". He highlighted the steady growth the country has experienced in the last 10 years and pointed out that the Peruvian economy is more resistant than Mexico, Chile and Colombia - the other members of the Latin American Integrated Market (MILA).

The President of the Reserve Bank added that despite the fall in commodities revenue over the last three years, "Peru remains a good opportunity for Asian investors due to solid economic foundations". In fact, sectors such as agriculture look attractive for Asian capital. Last month, the first shipment of Hass Avocado arrived in Japan having passed all sanitary regulations. In September, it is expected that the first containers of Peruvian avocados will arrive in Japan as Peru prepares to export 5000 tons of avocado to China and Japan in 2016. 

Mr. Blanco, Executive Director, concluded that the visit to Seoul had been hugely successful in showing Korean investors that Peru is open for business in a time where there is significant financial uncertainty. As one of Peru's important trade partners, Korea is encouraged to also invest its capital directly in the Lima Stock Exchange and not only through global investment funds.
